Mega Bus trip to London Town

Summer holidays….I love you!!! I didn’t think I would say this as at the beginning of the holidays as I was worrying about not only entertaining three kids for 6 weeks but also surving our busiest season of the year. But in fact my fretting was wasted as this years summer holidays were ace! We had many day trips out, meet ups at the beach with friends and family, a trip to Legoland and some adventures on my dad’s boat to name but a few. Bill and I even managed to get away on a mini holiday (two days, one night) to London to visit a friend. I lived in London for about five years and moved home when Bill was just a 5 month old bean in my tummy so going back with a ever growing 6 and a half year old was really special. When I was planning the trip the price of train tickets was shocking….we wanted to travel at peak times and the price definitely reflected that. So instead of a train ride I opted for a mega bus journey….scary I know but in fact five hours on a coach with my little man was great fun. There was a lot of chat about lego, lego and more lego!

Eventually we arrived and we cramed our two days full to the brim. It was a definite bonus that Steph (my friend) is a travel agent and therefore planned the best agenda for us. Bill’s highlight was sitting at a bus stop made completely of lego! My highlight was just being back in London….I’m a country girl at heart but I miss the diversity and energy of city life.
